Drug Rehabilitation Programs

Drug rehabilitation program successA good drug rehabilitation program is more than just a treatment for addiction, it is something that helps to restore people to their natural selves with self-determinition and responsiblity for themselves and others.

When determining the success rate of any rehabilitation program, many factors should be included, such as quality of life, condition of their family and finances, physical and mental health and of course whether or not they stay sober.

Our counselors have worked with tens of thousands of people throughout the country over the years to assist them in finding rehabilitation programs that work. Contact us to get more information.

Types of Drug Rehabilitation Programs

These are some of the most common forms of rehabilitation programs available today:

Long-term rehabilitation - this is what we recommend most for the greatest chance at success. It can really be anything over a month, but is often more than 60- or 90-days. Some can last longer than six months or even over a year.

Short-term rehabilitation - a typical program is 28-days and follows a 12-step procedure. While these are the most common in America, they are not the most successful.

Outpatient rehabilitation - many addicts try to avoid going to an inpatient program, or in some cases are unable to for work or family obligations, and therefore try outpatient programs. Outpatient clinics have the highest percentage of overall treatment clientele, but are typically less successful than a short-term inpatient program due to the high potential for relapse. There are of course cases where outpatient treatment works, but it is much less common among daily users.

Drug replacement therapy - we do not consider this as a form of rehabilitation. It is usually only treating the symptoms of addiction, feeding a physical or mental need for drugs or simply substituting one drug for another. There are extreme cases where people cannot get off all drugs, such as heavy chronic pain patients, but the majority of addicts are able to fully become rehabilitated without drugs in other types of programs.
